Jocoque

As a kid I grew up on mostly Mexican food my parent's cooked. They hardly ever took us to any fast food joints, the only time we got to eat out was mostly on Sunday's after La Misa(if we were not bad).I can say now I appreciate eating home cooked food, and I do feel like it made me more open to eating a variety of different food, but I do sometimes think some of the food my parent’s made was very interesting…
Jocoque is a Mexican style cream, and for as long as I could remember my parents would blend buttermilk, sour cream and salt to make their own Jocoque. They then would serve it and eat with fresh steamed corn on the cob. They would either dip it or drink it along while eating the corn. To me it was never quite my cup of tea, and till this day I really don't like it so much, but hey we got our own tastes and creations. So did any of your parents try to make you eat anything you though was odd?

I can't stand patas de puerco. And, wouldn't you know, I married a guy who can't eat enough of the stuff. So I make it for him. I will be posting the recipe on my blog one of these days.
