Traditions

Dia de Los Muertos is coming up again this year and I am getting my little make- shift alter ready. This one pictured here was last years alter, I plan to make a nicer one this year and add more details. Unfortunately I know three people and my beloved dog Negra that died this year, so the alter will be a little full but I do it in honer of them. I shall post the picture of the new alter sometime this week.

that's cool that your honoring them with your alter. I love being Mexican because we have some of the best traditions.

I agree. I'm not Mexican but I think that the Day of the Dead has a much more profound sentiment than Halloween, which is just plain scary cute. The act of honoring the dead this way is something that I wish U.S. culture would embrace more. Accepting rather than fearing death is probably the better way to live.
